Sydney, December 2024 – UNSW College has announced significant updates for 2025 that will positively impact international students planning to study in Australia. In a detailed communication, UNSW College shared essential program updates, articulation pathways, and new opportunities for international students, ensuring broader access and flexibility.

No Legislative Caps for 2025

One of the most critical updates is that the proposed bill to introduce caps on international student enrollments has been adjourned and failed to pass the Senate. This outcome ensures that legislative caps are unlikely to impact student enrollments in 2025. In response, UNSW College is reopening several intakes to accommodate growing interest from both local and international students.

What’s Reopening?

  • Diploma Term 1, 2025: Open for onshore students only, with special provisions for graduating Foundation Studies students.
  • Diploma Terms 2 and 3, 2025: Applications reopen between December 9, 2024, and January 6, 2025, for those previously unable to secure offers. New applications begin January 6, 2025.
  • Foundation Studies Programs (June and August 2025): Applications are now open, with deadlines available via UNSW’s website from December 16, 2024.

New 5-Week Intensive Online English Program

Students with conditional offers for Term 1, 2025, who narrowly missed English language requirements can now enroll in the Online University English Entry Course (UEEC). This intensive five-week course starts January 6, 2025, providing a fast-track option to meet English proficiency for UNSW degree programs.

Applications are open via StudyLink, with detailed requirements available on the UNSW College website.

Expanded Pathways for Success

UNSW College has expanded its articulation pathways, offering greater flexibility for students who may not progress to UNSW. Notably:

  • Programs are now recognized by Griffith University and the University of Southern Queensland, in addition to all Group of Eight (Go8) universities.
  • International recognition continues to grow, providing transnational students with more options to access high-quality education globally.

These expanded pathways aim to benefit students worldwide, reaffirming UNSW College’s commitment to educational excellence.
