Course Information

Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

Course Description

This qualification reflects the role of educators in early childhood education and care who work in regulated children’s education and care services in Australia. They support children’s wellbeing, and development in the context of an approved learning framework. Educators use a range of well-developed skills and knowledge using discretion and judgment when carrying out their work in the context of established policies and procedures. They may work independently or under the guidance of others, though in some contexts that guidance may not be on-site.

Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

Course Description

This course provides comprehensive training for early childhood education and care services that is applicable in a broad range of work environments. This course will prepare you for a role within childcare education. They may have responsibility for supervision of volunteers or other staff.

You’ll develop skills in providing activities and care to children, with an emphasis on play-based learning. You’ll learn to facilitate learning and play in order to enable children to achieve developmental outcomes.

Certificate III of Individual Support

Course Description

Prepare for a truly fulfilling career within an ever-growing Aged Care sector – where there is an increasing demand for qualified professionals in an environment where people-centred support is critical. This iLearn Oz course of study will prepare graduates for the delivery of:

• Holistic Care
• Emotional and Social support
• Physical and Psychological well-being
• Palliative care

Support for those with Dementia or other illnesses

In addition to an active classroom learning environment, students will consolidate their learning within industry facility placement settings, putting their theoretical knowledge into ‘rewarding’ practice – prior to securing permanent employment in Aged or Home Care settings.

Certificate IV in Ageing Support

Course Description

The Certificate IV in Aged Care will combine classroom training with on the job training by our highly qualified training staff. Students will be able to put into practice the skills that they have learnt in the classroom through placement at a registered aged care facility. Resources and equipment used to train students are to industry standards. The delivery will include face to face teaching, lectures, discussions, research, learning activities, group work, and supervised practical sessions. You will also be able to take advantage of work placement with leading Aged Care providers.

Your newly-developed skills will enable graduates to not only work independently, but take responsibility for the planning, facilitation and quality delivery of client-centric services – including:

• Managing compliance for Legal and Ethical requirements

Certificate IV in Disability

Course Description

This qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of community settings and clients’ homes, who provide training and support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and wellbeing. Workers promote a person-centred approach, work without direct supervision and may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a small team.

Diploma of Community Services

Course Description

This qualification reflects the roles of community services, case management and social housing workers involved in the managing, co-ordinating and/or delivering of person-centred services to individuals, groups and communities.

At this level, workers have specialised skills in community services and work autonomously under broad directions from senior management. Workers are usually providing direct support to individuals or groups of individuals. Workers may also have responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers and/or case management, program coordination or the development of new business opportunities.

Certificate IV in Leadership and Management

Course Description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working as developing and emerging leaders and managers in a range of enterprise and industry contexts.

As well as assuming responsibility for their own performance, individuals at this level are likely to provide leadership, guidance and support to others. They may also have some responsibility for organising and monitoring the output of teams.

They apply solutions to a defined range of predictable and unpredictable problems and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources.

Diploma of Leadership and Management

Course Description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply knowledge, practical skills and experience in leadership and management across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.

Individuals at this level display initiative and judgement in planning, organising, implementing and monitoring their own workload and the workload of others. They use communication skills to support individuals and teams to meet organisational or enterprise requirements.

Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management

Course Description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply specialised knowledge and skills, together with experience in leadership and management, across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.

Individuals at this level use initiative and judgement to plan and implement a range of leadership and management functions, with accountability for personal and team outcomes within broad parameters.

They use cognitive and communication skills to identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources and transfer their knowledge to others, and creative or conceptual skills to express ideas and perspectives or respond to complex problems.

Certificate IV in Kitchen Management

Course Description

This qualification reflects the role of chefs and cooks who have a supervisory or team leading role in the kitchen. They operate independently or with limited guidance from others and use discretion to solve non-routine problems.

This qualification provides a pathway to work in organisations such as restaurants, hotels, clubs, pubs, cafes and coffee shops, or to run a small business in these sectors.

Diploma of Hospitality Management

Course Description

This qualification reflects the role of highly skilled senior operators who use a broad range of hospitality skills combined with managerial skills and sound knowledge of industry to coordinate hospitality operations. They operate independently, have responsibility for others and make a range of operational business decisions.

This qualification provides a pathway to work in any hospitality industry sector as a departmental or small business manager. The diversity of employers includes restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafes, and coffee shops. This qualification allows for multiskilling and for specialisation in accommodation services, cookery, food and beverage and gaming.

Courses

Bachelor of Cyber Security

The Bachelor of Cyber Security is a technical course designed to prepare students for entry-level roles leading to an exciting career in Cyber Security. Students will first learn the foundations of information technology, such as programming, networks and databases, before tackling more specialised units, such as those in applied cryptography and network, web and cloud security. This leads to advanced cyber security subjects, such as those focused on ethical hacking, cyber-physical systems, IoT security and cyber security operations.

Students will also be exposed to highly useful units focusing on soft skills and human factors. For example, these units can cover communications, cybercrime, cyberlaw and cyber ethics, cyber governance risk and compliance as well as project management.

Graduates will have the necessary skills and knowledge to work in a wide range of industries, primarily in a cyber security analyst role.

Bachelor of Enterprise Management Systems

The Bachelor of Enterprise Management Systems is a degree that encompasses the skills and knowledge to succeed in the current market. The program focuses on the challenges associated with selecting, installing, and maintaining systems that support business processes, data analytics and information flows. This includes both systems within an organisation and those that relate to key external parties, such as suppliers and customers. Skills and knowledge in Enterprise Management Systems are sought after by a diverse range of employers. By studying this degree, graduates will be equipped to work in many different sectors and industries.

Students will use contemporary industry-standard enterprise systems software. They will also have opportunities to interact with the industry through guest lecturers, industry visits and case studies.

Bachelor of International Business

The Bachelor of International Business is a multidisciplinary program for students who wish to establish a career in international business.
