General English classes are available from Beginner to Advanced levels and comprise 23 hours of English language tuition per week (equivalent to 29 lessons) delivered in six week modules throughout the year. The Academy’s comprehensive syllabus ensures that speaking, listening, reading and writing skills are covered every day with grammar, vocabulary and syntax studied in context. Also available via online delivery as General English Live.
General English Live is a unique mix of “face to face” delivery online. You will have your own teacher and interact with your teacher in real time and through a dedicated student portal.
English for General Purposes (EGP) is designed for students who are at beginner level of English. Students will require an IELTS of 3.5 or equivalent to commence English for General Purposes.
Beginner to Advanced (6 Levels)
20 hours in-class and 5 hours Accelerate and Homework Review
10 weeks per level
Daily coursebook-based core lessons followed by afternoon Active8 skill and system based lessons
Access to a variety of teachers and teaching styles
Weekly revision tests and structured teacher feedback
Students progress through levels as their abilities improve
Students are provided with coursebooks in accordance with coursebook entitlements
This programme of study is intended to enhance the all-round language and communication skills of those who wish to work or study more effectively in an international context. Students will improve their language skills and consider factors affecting inter-cultural communication with special emphasis on fluent spoken English and pronunciation. Participants will also have the opportunity to establish relationships and share points of view with international colleagues
Level 4 is our upper-intermediate English level. Students completing this level have an English ability equivalent to IELTS 5.5. Successfully completing General English Level 4 allows you to advance to General English Level 5.
Level 3 is our intermediate English level. Students completing this level have an English ability equivalent to IELTS 5.0. After successfully completing this course you can advance to Level 4 – upper intermediate.
Level 2 is our pre-intermediate English level. Students completing this level have an English ability equivalent to IELTS 4.5. After successfully completing this course you can advance to General English level 3.
Level 1 is our lowest English level. Students completing this level have an English ability equivalent to IELTS 3.5. After successfully completing this course you can advance to General English level 2.
