With five subjects ranked in the global top 20 and 35 in the top 50, the University of Sydney has once again demonstrated its academic excellence in the 2025 QS World University Rankings by Subject. The rankings placed the University first in Australia in nine disciplines, with a total of 20 subjects improving their global ranking. The QS rankings assess over 5,200 universities worldwide, evaluating 1,747 institutions across 55 disciplines within five broad subject areas:

Notable Achievements in the 2025 QS Rankings

The University of Sydney showed significant improvement in Natural Sciences, rising 14 places in the broad subject rankings. Other notable advancements include:
