Understanding the ANU Education Agent Authorisation Form

Thursday 27 March 2025
The ANU Education Agent Authorisation Form allows applicants to nominate, change, or de-authorise education agents for admission-related matters. It includes sections for applicant details, type of authorisation, agent information, reasons for change, and applicant declaration. The form must be submitted via email to ANU admissions.

Understanding the ANU Education Agent Authorisation Form

The Australian National University (ANU) provides prospective and current applicants the option to nominate, change, or de-authorise an education agent to act on their behalf for admission-related matters. This process is facilitated through the Education Agent Authorisation Form, an essential document designed to streamline the communication and support provided to international applicants through registered ANU education agencies.

Purpose of the Form

This form enables applicants to:

  • Authorise a registered education agent to act on their behalf if they have not already done so during the application.

  • Change the education agent currently authorised, by nominating a new one.

  • Withdraw authorisation from a current education agent without appointing a new one.

It is important to note that if your application was submitted by an agent, you do not need to complete this form unless you wish to change or remove the agent's authority.

Section 1: Applicant Details

This section captures the applicant’s personal and identification details, including:

  • Family name and given name(s) as per legal documents

  • Date of birth

  • ANU ID (e.g., u7654321) or application number (formats include 987654321, W1198765, or 00654321)

  • Current branch/location and the new agency name (if applicable)

Section 2: Type of Authorisation

Applicants must indicate which of the following best describes their situation:

  • Authorising an education agency for the first time

  • Changing from one agency to another

  • Removing the current education agent without appointing a new one

Depending on the choice, supporting information must be provided for the current and/or new agent.

Section 3: Agent Information

Details of the current agent (if applicable) and new agent must be included:

  • Agency name

  • Branch location

  • Counsellor or contact name (optional)

  • Branch email

  • Agent’s signature and date

This section confirms that the new agency agrees to represent the applicant in their dealings with ANU.

Section 4: Reason for Change (if applicable)

ANU values feedback from applicants and asks for the reason for changing or removing an agent. Applicants can select from:

  • Relocation and convenience of the new agency

  • Incorrect or misleading information from the current agent

  • Dissatisfaction with service

  • Other reasons (with explanation)

If more space is needed, applicants may attach a separate document.

Section 5: Applicant Declaration

Applicants must confirm:

  • The accuracy and completeness of the information provided

  • That any changes to agency authorisation have been communicated to the relevant parties

  • Their agreement to allow ANU to share personal information with the authorised agency

  • Understanding of the responsibilities and communication protocols of the authorised agent

  • Consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the ANU Privacy Policy

If the applicant is under 18 years of age, a parent or guardian's signature is also required.
