Hobart

Hobart is a perfect slice of urban living on the edge of pristine wilderness. Study in the heart of the city, on the harbour, and by the beach.

  • Sandy Bay

UTas beachside Sandy Bay campus is located five minutes' drive south of the city centre.

In addition to purpose-built teaching and learning facilities, this campus has a range of on-site amenities and resources

  • The Hedberg

The Hedberg is one of Tasmania’s most ambitious arts projects to date. The building houses purpose-built, soundproof and digitally-equipped rehearsal and practice rooms, an integrated multi-room recording suite, and two key performance spaces – the Recital Hall and the Salon – as well as sound stages and broadcast capacities.

  • Institute of Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS)

Located on Hobart’s waterfront, IMAS combines Tasmania's strengths in marine and Antarctic studies in one precinct, offering opportunities for collaborative research of state, national and international significance.

  • Medical Science Precinct

In the heart of Hobart CBD, the Medical Science Precinct (MSP) accommodates research facilities for UTas Menzies Research Institute, School of Medicine and the Royal Hobart Hospital.

  • Creative Arts Precinct

UTas vibrant creative precinct brings together artists across Fine Arts, Design, Media, Music, and Theatre and Performance. Hone your creativity in the fully converted, late-19th Century space that is the iconic Jones & Co. IXL jam factory.

  • The Media School

Located in Salamanca, UTas Media School shares space with Hobart’s leading media organisations. You’ll find yourself rubbing shoulders with practitioners from news, communications, and other screen organisations.

Launceston

Launceston is a vibrant city with a welcoming, small town feel. UTas campuses offer hands on learning in creative and collaborative environments.

  • Newnham

Newnham is a spacious campus overlooking the stunning Tamar River. It's also just a short drive to Launceston's city centre. 

  • Inveresk

UTas Inveresk Campus is conveniently located near the inner city, alongside the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery. It’s home to Architecture, Fine Arts, Design, and Theatre and Performance programs.

Cradle Coast Campuses

UTas learning centres offer a gateway to the incredible North West, a region brimming with outdoor adventure, food trails and an enviable coastal lifestyle.

  • Cradle Coast campus

UTas opened this brand-new waterfront campus at West Park in Burnie - a place of learning, cultural and recreational activities for many decades. Here, you’ll get to make the most of interactive learning in immersive teaching rooms, connect with your peers in social spaces, and be part of a vibrant community precinct.

  • Other centres

UTas also has a presence at several other sites across the North West and West Coast.

You’ll find Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture (TIA) and Atrium Apartments at Mooreville Road. UTas also has an Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) Facility in the heart of South Burnie’s industrial precinct, while the UTas Rural Clinical School (RCS) has two campuses in Burnie and Latrobe. TIA has research facilities at Elliott and Forthside, and also supports community-based study centres in Zeehan and Smithton.

Sydney

UTas Sydney campus offers Nursing, Paramedic and health Management education, all in partnership with local hospitals and health service providers.
